Shirley Motors is a modern, well-equipped automotive service business employing four highly qualified mechanics.

The business is located in the heart of Shirley / Richmond and the premises occupies part of a local landmark being the former Stan Wheatley Garage on the corner of Hills Road & Avalon Street. (see map)

Shirley Motors has been a member of the Motor Trades Association (MTA) since 1989 and is guided by their principles.

History

Shirley Motors began as Win's Auto Repairs in 1974 in what now is the "Big Fresh" site. The business steadily increased in size and this instigated several moves including one to adjoining the Shell Shirley petrol station. The move also prompted the business to change its name to Shirley Motors Workshop Ltd.

 

  

In 2004 Shirley Motors purchased Wheatleys Auto Centre from Rex & Kim Collins and the business has occupied the former workshop since.

This site originally was where Stan Wheatley started his business in 1928 and it remained in the Wheatley family until 1996.

The Proprietor

 

The proprietor is Jared Hansen and he takes pride in the workmanship shown by his team and the excellent reputation they have earned.
